Decibel 60: Immigration Checkpoint Part 1 Project 2019 Alex Ferragu Liverpool John Moores University Liverpool | UK On the 23rd of June 2016, the United Kingdom decided to leave the European Union (EU), the UK imposes an imaginary border all around the country, allowing architectural responses at every point of entry to the country.Although the nature of a checkpoint is to control the provenance of entering visitors, it can also be seen as a pleasant gateway to the country. There, the visitors will be audio-visually recorded as they physically enter the country. The choice of topic for this recording is free to the narrator to decide. These recordings will be converted into files which will then be projected onto glass panels of human size, creating a holographic-like display arranged in a maze-like space open to visitors. An archive of all the recordings made can be consulted in the library space, which is a source one in the domain of a research.Decibel 60 will also encourage the development of language in conjunction with the sharing of information. The holographic-like projections represent more than an artistic light display, it is a physical manifestation of the passage of a visitor to Liverpool, the sharing of an experience.
