The project's site is located in a historical area in Alexandria waterfront. The proposed design solution is based on the rehabilitation of the existing old-historical-building in combination with a contemprory group of buildings in a special context. The design concept was to work with the past and apply todays modern technology echoing the traditional vocabularies of the place. The functions added are a new auction hall with a computerized system, fish selling shops and a variety of fish food restaurants. This creates an environment for than just fisherman to enter. The structure is a lighweight fabric structure. It is a group of net like structure using tension cables adjoined together. The idea was inspired from the fishermens net.
