fighting for survival Part 2 Project 2006 John Boeteng, Lian KaczykowskiElizavet Avramidou, Francisco da SilvaDaniel May, Neil Weston University of Greenwich, UK Quite simply the world is in Crisis. Our way of life is not sustainable! We must fight for survival! This fight cannot be fought alone. We must conquer our egos, develop a team ethic, adopt a holistic approach to all design, determine and celebrate what values we share. We, Atelier 12, attempt here to articulate a battle plan, a series of ground rules from which to fight together to plan and build a sustainable future.Vasilieios Kiousis, Neil Keating, Hatice Cagiran, Christos Soubasis, Elena Antonopoulou, Eva Vrachnou, John Boateng, Eleni Stellaki, Darren Stoneman, Elizavet Avramidou,Neil Weston, Mathilde Bourgeois-Ducournau, Francisco da Silva, James Kay, Daniel May, Hannah Chalmers-Stevens, Lian Kaczykowski. John Boeteng, Lian KaczykowskiElizavet Avramidou, Francisco da SilvaDaniel May, Neil Weston The parasitic, greedy and thirsty demand for food, water, energy and consumer goods has profoundly altered our relationships with our fragile planet and its eco systems. We need new sustainable cities with new infrastructures sited strategically to benefit from renewable energy sources, fresh water supplies, and fertile land planned with a fundamental objective of ensuring the survival of the human occupation of planet earth. These cities promise a new beginning, a chance to correct our mistakes, utilise our ingenuity to build a sustainable future world.Fighting alone we are doomed. Together we stand a chance.
