Our target site was a harbour within which laid a fish village. The complex crowds, industries and customs led to a diverse culture on this land. Depending on the diversity, we trisect the area——the west part, the middle part, the east part.

West——A desolation area with many abandoned fishing products factories. The big space factory buildings are potential to be transferred. And in our outlook, this area would be a lively urban show field. By network monitoring anywhere, this show field is an open land to the world without any privacy.

Middle——The fishermen’s income on fishing cannot cover living expenditure now but they still cherish their fishing life before, which is an invisible link existed between the dwellers and this land. We are moved by their original life and try to revive this fishing village. Compared with the western part, it would be isolated from the network to preserve the pure local life.

East——The local residential community attracts a lot of backpackers with its delicate alleys. Its high density shapes a kind atmosphere but also occupies the public space. The first step is to clear up the texture and create public places. The residents’ ardently love of plants inspires us to build a crazy plant system along the alleys. All these would lead to a kind of pure physical experience during wandering.
