This dissertation is a study of the two-minute silence as an event which can be experienced regardless of physical location. The study asserts the two-minute silence as a social space, using personal accounts taken from individuals to examine the role of the ritual whilst serving to highlight the value of language and experience in the creation of both imagined and actual space.
