The Judging Panels will select up to 20 projects who will receive awards at the presentation ceremony in December. Medals will be awarded to 3 students - the Bronze Medal for Part 1; the Silver Medal for Part 2 and the Dissertation Medal. In addition, there will be a maximum of 3 commendations each, including any special commendations, for Part 1, Part 2, and Dissertation. In the case of group work, a joint award will be made and if a medal is awarded this will be shared. The Judging Panel and the President's Medals sponsors will also select some of the awards listed below:

The Institute of Materials, Minerals
and Mining (IOM3) have extended their sponsorship of the awards to include a
series of visits to industrial materials centres as well as honorary membership
of the IOM3 to the medallists and commendation winners and their tutors in the
Bronze Medal/Part 1 and Silver Medal/Part 2 categories.
In addition to their sponsorship of the awards, Ibstock Brick will also provide mentoring support to the medallists and commendation winners in the form of site visits to Ibstock factories organised and paid for by Ibstock.
