Belfast Bomb: The Blitz and the unsheltered city

Part 2 Dissertation 2016

Queen's University Belfast Belfast UK
Belfast experienced the second greatest loss of life in any night raid during the Blitz. Due to a number of reasons, the authorities were lulled into a position of denial and naivety, which ultimately resulted in the remaking of architecture and space in a hasty response to bombing. This dissertation presents this particular architectural response in Belfast during the Second World War through text and a series of maps.
