A comparative study of the architectural approaches taken to improve social infrastructures of cities today. Likening the city to the human body with its various systems, the dissertation discusses the seemingly hidden and broken social infrastructures of Portsmouth, analysing the inherent values of top-down development versus bottom-up, community-driven regeneration.
