Cartographies of the Imaginary. A narrative journey through Borges and his personal library: retracing the fantastic coordinates of the written and unwritten world

Part 1 Dissertation 2017
Federica Giardino
University of Strathclyde Glasgow UK
The dissertation investigates the essential role of spatial dimensions in the works of fantastic literature, through a literary journey inside Jorge Luis Borges' curated anthologies.
A selection of key texts constitutes the basis for the author's work of fiction. The aim is to explore the fundamental motifs that recur in the visions of the imaginary world. This is supported by theoretical insights of philosophical, social and historical nature.
