A general characteristic of part II of the architecture program is the program is the progressive and cross-sectional introduction of analytical contents that enable the development of project through design, research, and innovation. This entails the formulation of questions regarding a disciplinary problem that combines architectural composition with social, cultural, environmental, and material aspects for the development of a design project, whether architectural, urban, or landscape in scope, or a research project, or an innovation project contributing to the spatial transformation of the territory.

In such a way that designing is not an end in itself, but a means to contribute to the solution of general problems and concerns, and to the evolution of the discipline as a field of knowledge and action with social and environmental responsibility in line with its ethical dimension.

The thesis Project is the central component and articulating axis of part II of the architecture program. The object-based thesis project course is developed in coordination with the graphic and oral argumentation workshop and the graphic and written argumentation workshop courses. The latter provide the argumentation structure.

The thesis Project course, through the various curricular objectives, enables students to be capable of designing, building, and directing projects with a strong social sense by recognizing their responsibility towards the cultural, environmental, technical, and other aspects inherent to the discipline in the spatial transformation of the territory.
