'Reclaiming the Past, Building the Future' is a visionary project that transforms Tripoli’s toxic landfill into a thriving ecological park and research hub. Located at the confluence of the Kadisha River and the Mediterranean Sea, the Tripoli Ecological Hub addresses one of Lebanon’s most pressing environmental challenges: waste pollution. By integrating sustainable design, community spaces, and scientific innovation, the project proposes a comprehensive strategy for ecological restoration and urban resilience.

The design centers on the concept of nature’s rhythm—the “pulse of the earth”—with fluid, organic forms symbolizing renewal and continuity. The project unfolds in phases: removing and processing waste, restoring the site, and building a vibrant public park intertwined with a state-of-the-art Ecological Research and Education Center. This facility houses advanced laboratories, greenhouses, and public learning zones dedicated to water quality, biodiversity, and sustainable engineering.

Beyond environmental recovery, the hub fosters education, community involvement, and green jobs, creating a living model for circular economy and sustainable urban planning. It turns a once-polluted site into a beacon of hope and innovation, reimagining the role of architecture in healing damaged landscapes and empowering communities.
