Hongjimun Tunnel Management Office Renovation Part 1 Project 2023 Taeyu Jeong Korea National University of Arts | South Korea 1. The Hongjimun Tunnel Management Office is located at the foot of Bukaksan Mountain, which was cut by civil engineering work. To enter this area, people must enter the back road of the building lined up on the main street, cross the Hongje stream, and climb the slope of the narrow unpaved road about 200 meters. The tunnel management office has three huge shafts 30 meters high which are connected to the lower Hongjimun Tunnel and serve as ventilation facilities. The huge size of the shaft, the huge structure that supports it, and various facilities have an overwhelming scale. 2. Propose a new program in a huge space consisting of mechanical devices.
