'Restorative Health: Emergency and wellbeing care center' addresses the urgent need for accessible healthcare in rural Jiangbei, Ningbo, where no hospital exists within a 10 km radius. The project aims to bridge the urban-rural disparities by providing both emergency treatment and restorative care in a single, community-centered facility.

The design, which is based on contextual awareness and community requirements, uses courtyards as key spatial tools to bring natural light, greenery, and calm into the heart of the building. These courtyard spaces not only improve indoor environmental quality but also support wellbeing, which is vital in healthcare settings. A flowing, curved roof responds to internal programs, rising above public zones like the main lobby and gently lowering over private consultation and treatment areas. In addition, the structure is built primarily from timber for its warmth, sustainability, and connection to nature.

This project reframes healthcare infrastructure as not just a facility, but as an active, restorative landscape that supports the everyday lives of underserved communities while promoting wellbeing, resilience, and spatial dignity.
