Trilogue: Crafted connections

Trilogue stands as a gateway into Derry / Londonderry, bridging the gap between the riverside and the city. At its core, the design is one of quiet integration: harmonising with the urban landscape and connecting the embankment back to the city. The city’s threshold becomes a bridge between communities. The three-building strategy creates a “city within a city”. Each building is separate with differing functions, though they each connect in various ways - shaping a dialogue through architecture.

Trilogue consists of three buildings, varying in shape and form and coordinated in their materiality. This is a civic scheme - designed both for the people of Derry, and visitors of the city.

The three buildings, when arranged as they are together, create courtyards, streets and alleyways. Though the function of each differs (craft rooms, a library, a waiting area, etc), the occupiers of each will most likely cross-over. This scheme is intended for shared use, open and accessible to all. The scheme responds directly to the landmarks and layered history of its site; between river, wall, and civic ground.
