The Wulong Village is an area that faced a tumultuous history. In the recent years, multiple demolitions took place, leaving the village deserted. Once a residential area with a strong local character, the land is now lacking not just its residents, but also the architecture that was so representative for the place.

The Ceramic Cultural Heritage Centre is located strategically at the heart of the village, concentrating the traffic and pedestrian circulation. The height of the building, its shape and colour also play a key role in making this Cultural Centre a landmark. The main aims of this proposal include boosting the local economy and recognition, reviving the ancient art of pottery characteristic for the area, and improving the current aesthetic of the village by implementing a contemporary approach to the traditional Chinese architecture.
