DECLARATION OF OBJECTIVES AND PEDAGOGICAL ORIENTATION
The career of Architecture of the University of Valparaiso through its plans and programs of studies has as an essential objective to mould a university professional with a solid formation, which has to be able to understand and sort out, places and facilities within daily activities of the human being, basing this target on an accurate physical and spatial organisation either alone or in community.
The professional will be qualified to plan, organise and materialise the physical surroundings as well as human settings.
Based on this general definition, the development plan of the school focuses on fixing the current state off the dynamic development of its trends of thoughts, reflected upon the analysis and decisions shared through the university discussions that constitutes an essential part of objectives and pedagogical orientation of the school as well.
Likewise the nature immersed in every human discipline that is carried out in such an ambience as it is that of the university, the creative nature, essential , characteristic of architecture taken as an artistic concept, turns out to be a need for constant discussion regarding the specifics of our activities and therefore of its lessons.
POLICY:
The current policy being carried out in our school is based upon the following tenets:
a) Maintenance of the RIBA accreditation
b) Sustained exchange between our school of architecture and the outside world, the latter in relation to the public system and the private enterprise, framed on architectural issues.
c) Curriculum suitability:
From the statements mentioned above the related needs are:
C1)Readapt our school in the precise international academic context
C2) Appropriately introduce the issues related to cognitive sciences.
C3)To process a suitable curriculum that would enable students to take more advantage of the knowledge given on campus.
C4)To train students to be able to provide effective solutions in the constant growing technological world.
d) To generate fields of studies devoted to postgraduate courses for better performance of the outcoming professional in all scopes.
