About
The University of Chile bases its development in its history as the oldest university of the country, as well as the values of diversity, tolerance and democracy. From this perspective our school of Architecture structures its work from a humanistic point of view, with solid bases in the history and the experience, but also with an expectant and inquisitive vision of the future. The teaching of the architecture is conceived as a systematic, progressive, and continuous process which for more than 150 years has prepared architects with an integral vision of his role in the society.
The school counts with a curricula fully appropriated to the contemporary challenges, besides a solid development in research, publications and participation in international interchange programmes.
The aim of the career defines an attitude towards the discipline which tackles its theoretical and practical scope, in all the scales of the architecture and urbanism. A regurous and open focus of the reality encourages the studentes to have a point of view of the architecture as a profession directly joined to country development.
Then the architectural problem will be covered from a perspective which consider the technical and technological aspects, as well as the formal and esthetic ones. That is why the teaching of the architecture walks by conceptual and pragmatic paths, but always with the understood that should be developed as a tool of common progress.
