About
The School of Architecture is part of the College of Art, Science and Engineering within the University of Dundee.
The School ethos is one of "Creative Realism" and we are proud of the excellent employability of our students.
Students are encouraged to participate in the student organisation ADAS, and enjoy collaboration with students from other disciplines within the Faculty.
The educational process is designed to equip graduates who are sensitive to human needs, and capable of designing a sympathetic built environment to met the diverse requirements of society and thus make an effective contribution to the quality of life.
Advanced CAD systems are integrated within the course and their techniques play an increasing role as aids to assist the architect designer.
Since graduates will normally become members of a professional institute, they must be capable of assuming the responsibilities that society place on such institutes. The creative design process is accordingly informed by a clear understanding of professional, practice and building industry issues.
The School lies within the University campus, on the edge of the City Centre, which provides excellent opportunities for sport and recreation. Educational programmes take full opportunity of the exceptional surroundings of burghs, villages and areas of high landscape value. The School plays an increasingly active role within the life of the City and provides cutting edge research to numerous public agencies.
